CEREC—CAD/CAM Computer Dentistry

Did you know that porcelain crowns and partial crowns (inlays/onlays) can be prepared, designed, fabricated and fitted
all in one appointment? These types of restorations are appropriate for many, but not all, teeth.
The process is easy and requires only one injection! You’ll avoid having a temporary crown, reduce the amount of the tooth removed, and often experience less sensitivity.
Using an infrared three-dimensional optical image of your tooth, Dr. Cook will design the crown (or partial crown) on a computer screen.
The computer interfaces with a milling machine to create the crown out of a solid block of durable porcelain. The milled crown is then fitted and bonded to your tooth, the bite is refined, and the tooth polished. Dr. Cook has been using Cerec technology since 1997.
