Dental Implants
Implant Dentistry is now considered to be the first choice in replacing a missing tooth, a group of teeth, or stabilizing a denture.
Dental implants are used to support a single tooth, a group of teeth, or an entire mouthful. Smiles @ France uses a team approach in treatment planning for implant dentistry. Our office is involved in the initial treatment planning, the final construction of the restoration and the continued preventative maintenance. We utilize the expertise of our implant surgeons (periodontist or oral surgeon) in the placement and healing phases of implant dentistry.
Today, many people are replacing old, worn out and hard to clean multiple-tooth bridges with individual implant supported crowns.
Denture wearers who are tired of having ill-fitted plates that require frequent re-lining are upgrading to implant-supported-dentures that snap into the implants for a tight, secure fit and increased jaw strength. Less atrophy in the jaw bone due to the stimulation of the implants means less change in the gum tissue and facial structure and therefore, less change in the fit of the denture. All this translates into increased confidence, easier chewing and a more youthful appearance.
Benefits of Dental Implants:
- Implants actually preserve bone. When the jaw loses teeth, the bone atrophies away and the face may sink in.
- Implants minimize this, keeping the bone stimulated and the face and muscle tone looking younger Implants do not decay (decay is the most common cause for bridge failure).
- We can place implants today where we could not five to ten years ago.
- Implants add stability, preventing other teeth from bearing too much biting force stress, and keep the chewing forces off your tender gums.
- Dental implants increase chewing confidence and efficiency, muscle tone and strength, and youthful appearance.
